"Take time to smell the roses"

An extra special message is our theme for 2019 as so many struggle each day. Competition entries invited from 8:30 to 10:30am...and remember everyone has had similar growing conditions so just put your best offering in even if not up to the usual standard. No charge to enter competition.

A celebration of the rose growing talents of novice and experienced home gardeners is showcased in the Trophy and Prize Presentation and Social from 1:30pm. Cash prizes and five perpetual trophies include the Southern Downs Regional Council trophy first awarded in 1964 by the then Warwick Shire Council Mayor, Alderman O.A.W. Evans for the Bowl of Roses Category. Other trophies have been given by the families of loved ones who participated in many of the previous 56 Rose Festivals.

These include The Jill Ruhle Memorial Trophy, The Jack Hall Perpetual Trophy, and The Halvor Guy Memorial Trophy. The Champion Rose is displayed in the Hazel Hoffman Memorial Vase. Doors open at 1pm with an entry fee which includes a lucky door prize, the Rose Display, entertainment from local musicians Garry Teunis and Friends, a raffle with a $150 cash first prize, towels and sheets as 2nd and 3rd prizes ($1 tickets) and a cent sale with tickets at $2 each. The Guild ladies will again be offering their delicious afternoon tea. All are welcome and the Hall is accessible.
