Tonight we celebrate the country that brought us blues, jazz, gospel, soul, country, rock n roll and Trump. (Nobody’s perfect).

Following her sold-out Homecoming concert in April, WA-born Londoner, Simone Craddock, returns to The Ellington to perform The Great American Everything…(abridged). Never before has an attempt been made to condense America’s entire music catalogue into two hours, and probably with very good reason, but we’re gonna have some fun trying!

Simone’s dual career in music and theatre has taken her across Asia, The States, Europe and London…playing lead roles in the West End and singing in Ronnie Scotts and the jazz clubs of Soho. Simone finally brings her 20 year career home to Perth and re-defines the Great American Songbook with the reverence of one who cut her teeth on the streets of New Orleans. Paying homage to the hallowed ground of Berlin, Porter, Gershwin, Ellington, Lady Day and Ella, and extending the repertoire to include those later greats…Bernstein, Sondheim, Randy Newman, Elvis and quite possibly some Jackson Five, Gloria Gaynor and where IS the line? We may even throw in some Independence songs, keeping with the theme of the evening! As always, delivered tastefully from a platform of genre-fluid jazz, and nearly always in the key of fun!

This 4th of July, please join Simone Craddock on vocals, Brodie Stewart on piano/organ, Pete Jeavons on double bass and Alex Reid on percussion, to celebrate everything that’s great about the good old red, white and (true) blue!

"Exquisite, impeccable, quite superb…the audience were on their feet roaring for more." - Kind of Jazz, London

"Clever and unique, imprinting her stamp…rapt, captivated faces, hanging on her every note." - London Jazz News

"Aplomb, good humour and panache…she’s the girl for you." - Blues and Soul, London
