Let's get practical. How do you take sketches and ideas on the page into final wearable fashion? Are you a young or emerging designer? Want to learn the tricks of the trade from industry professionals?

In this three part workshop, learn how professional designers develop their ideas, create patterns and work with manufacturers, to create high end fashion pieces. Each workshop will give you an opportunity to hone practical fashion making skills to help turn your amazing ideas into reality.

Designed for VCE students and recent graduates, these workshops industry professionals will teach practical skills for creating a fashion empire.

Speakers
Meg Kolac: Fashion Illustration
Meg Kolac is a Designer and Illustrator from Melbourne and can often be seen dipping her brush into her cup of tea by mistake. Her illustrations are fun and lively with a hint of cheekiness. Predominantly watercolour and ink, Meg uses expressive brush strokes with splashes of colour to breathe life into each piece. Meg has held a number of solo exhibitions around Melbourne, featured in Melbourne Fashion Festival events, she runs Illustration workshops and tutors in Fashion Illustration at RMIT University for the Fashion Degree course. Meg puts all her energy into her love for illustration - one brush stroke at a time.

Eloise Warburton: Pattern Making
Eloise Warburton is a Melbourne based Secondary School Teacher & Author, specialising in Fashion Design & Textiles. She is most passionate about facilitating creativity in the classroom, and providing industry relevant design education. Eloise completed a Bachelor of Design (Honours) Fashion at RMIT and was part of the writing team for ‘Product Design & Technology Study- VCE Units 1–4’ Textbook, published in 2017 by Cambridge University Press. Eloise presents and consults for various institutions, including the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, Catholic Education Melbourne, Home Economics Victoria, and the Melbourne Museum.

Christina Exie: From Design to the Manufacturer
Christina Exie a Mens & Womenswear fashion designer with over 10 years’ global fashion industry experience. Her work focus is creative direction, design and product development. Rich experiences within the sector have allowed her to develop products and seasonal ranges that combine commercial viability with authentic brand aesthetics.

Graduating from RMIT University’s renowned fashion school, she had the privilege of completing an exchange at FIT, New York. From here, her design career took an unexpected twist, culminating in her winning the inaugural Project Runway Australia and leading to the launch of her eponymous brand of luxury Womenswear. Since then she has worked as the Head Designer of Rhodes & Beckett and Womenswear designer of Herringbone Sydney, followed by her role as Senior Design for Sneakerboy.

In 2017, she travelled to New York City to complete in Project Runway All Stars, Season 7 and in 2018 she moved to Germany for 12 months to work as Senior Designer at the ESPRIT Global Headquarters. Recently she returned to Australia and continues to work as a professional fashion designer as well as study advanced pattern design and tailoring. Through her travels and experiences she has consistently maintained a dedication to developing her design skills and deepening her fashion industry expertise.
