Feat. Rachel Berger, Michael Shafar, & Jude Perl

South Of The Border showcases performers who all live south of the Yarra (sorry, northsiders). This is going to be a rip snortin’ good time, so be sure to book early!!! Now everybody sing: South of the border, down St Kilda way.

Rachel Berger
Rachel Berger is one of Australia’s favourite stand-up comedians and a woman of remarkably diversified talents. In addition to playing the xylophone and carving avocado pips into small Buddhas, she’s recently stopped feeling guilty. Her material encompasses contemporary lifestyles, offering a hilarious and poignant expose of human foibles. There are no cows too sacred for this Berger.

Michael Shafar
Since leaving a career in law for comedy, Michael has been working hard to win his mother’s forgiveness, and has (somewhat) achieved that, having performed around Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the US and on international waters. In 2018 Michael toured his new show Kosher Bacon to sold out crowds in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne to rave reviews. In 2019 he will be touring nationally with his darkest and funniest show yet: 50/50.

"You’d crawl over broken glass to see him." - Glam Adelaide
"Clever, informed, witty and well-crafted." - Beat Magazine
"Mel Brooks would have been proud." - Herald Sun

Jude Perl
Let’s go on an adventure to solve all of our collective inner angst! Are you overwhelmed and perpetually confused about everything? Well, look no further; because when it comes to confusion, Jude Perl has all the answers. Yes, Jude Perl has been confusing audiences for years. With her misplaced musical talents and low fat air-frying technology, it’s no wonder she’s fast becoming a household name for up to and including seven households across the country. Jude Perl has established herself as a comedian/musician/artist who presents ‘hilarious and painfully spot on observations’ (Plus Ones) mixed with ‘insanely clever and comical songwriting’ (Melbourne Observer). She has won 3 consecutive Green Room Awards for Best Original Songs, and her 5th solo show ‘I Have A Face’ won the Best Cabaret award at Melbourne Fringe 2018.
