Paul Rissmann's musical adventure Stan and Mabel is a perfect introduction to classical music for young audiences. Based on the book written and illustrated by Jason Chapman, it tells the story of a music-loving dog and cat whose mission is to perform in the greatest orchestra in the world.

This highly interactive concert will captivate young children with its mix of music, illustrated projections and audience participation and imaginative narration. Melbourne Youth Orchestra is recognised as one of Australia's leading youth orchestras, with many members advancing to professional careers. In Melbourne Youth Orchestra, Victoria's brightest young musicians come together to work with highly respected conductors and educators, and delve into advanced orchestral repertoire.

Narrator: Scott Edgar, was born in Melbourne Victoria and studied Graphic Design and Theatre Production before embarking on a rich career as a composer, writer, comedian and actor, primarily alongside Steven Gates (Gatesy) and Simon Hall (Yon), in the comedy band Tripod. Tripod have been regulars on the international live comedy and cabaret circuit, regulars on radio and television and have in the last five years concentrated on songwriting for musicals for the screen and stage. Scott is also active as a screenwriter for animation and games, and as a children's book illustrator.

Recommended ages 3–8.
