Super Massive return to Saturday Funk Night at Last Night on Earth! Our favourite dive bar to sip rum cocktails, get funky and dance the night away. Expect a kaleidoscope of creative, electro-laced, disco-spliced, funk-drenched alternative pop songs, lovingly delivered with the kind of visceral thrill you get from a slamming rock band.

Super Massive is the collaboration of singer/songwriter Malina Hamilton-Smith and drummer/composer/producer Glenn Abbott (formerly of platinum-selling band Machine Gun Fellatio). Together the duo make intense, exhilarating and sexy electro/alternative pop music, driven by supremely funky dancefloor grooves and delivered with the lustiness of a rock band.

Their sound is unique, but lies somewhere between a blend of AC/DC or Led Zeppelin and Daft Punk or Basement Jaxx, with elements of Depeche Mode, Garbage, Chic, Brothers Johnson, The Divinyls, Florence & The Machine and Muse.

The band has spent around 6 years touring Australia and Asia. They’ve played numerous east coast tours and played alongside artists like Bertie Blackman, Def FX, Machine Gun Fellatio, The Jezabels and Megan Washington. They've performed at plenty of festivals including mainstage at Australia Day in the Rocks, Surry Hills Festival, Sea Festival Vietnam and celebrations for the 1000th Anniversay of Hanoi.

They released their self-titled debut EP to critical acclaim, numerous award wins and nominations and widespread pick up from independent radio and TV. Lead single "Fists In My Pocket" topped a swathe of indie radio and tv charts, both in Australia and overseas. Darker, more alternative single "Get Me Out Of My Head" followed, and also went to #1 on a number of indie charts in Australia and the US. In 2014 they released a third single, the brooding and dramatic James Bond-esque track "In The Twilight..." before taking a break to focus on writing and recording material for a debut album.

They are back in 2019, with two slamming songs out so far this year—soaring eco-ballad "Meltwater" and freshly dropped energetic synth rock anthem "We're Taking Over"—and they're just getting warmed up.

Come feel the love at the furthermost outpost of the apocalypse....it will be as funky as a night flight to Venus. Juicy as a daquiri. Slamming as a margarita. Chock full of funk-rocked up grooves to dance the night away and infectious tunes that will light up your heart like a mirror ball.
