The Final Siren: Farewell Subi Oval

Farewell Subi. Join us as we celebrate a mark in history.

For more than 100 years, Subiaco Oval has played a part in the lives of generations of West Australians as one of our city’s most iconic sporting and entertainment venues.

In 2019, we mark a new point in history. The Final Siren, a free and family-friendly event, will celebrate and showcase all Subiaco Oval has meant to West Australians over the decades.

WA footy and music fans are invited to come and stand in the shade of the Subiaco Oval grandstands for one last time—before work begins to deliver Subi East, a transformational new, connected and vibrant inner-city precinct on the doorstep of the CBD.

The event will be a great day out for the entire family—with junior footy, a kick-to-kick for all, Insta social media wall, information booths, coffee and food trucks, footy personalities, and a range of entertainment and activities.

While a playing surface will be reinstated as a key community space in Subi East, and other historic elements will also be retained, demolition of the grandstands will begin in late July. The Final Siren is an opportunity for anyone who has created memories at Subi Oval to come and walk on the turf, kick a footy and create your own mark in history at this milestone stage.
