The Gut Girls follows the working women of the Deptford Foreign Cattle Market. Long hours, dangerous working conditions and a bloody lot of entrails—but the pay is good. When members of high society come to save the girls by putting them to work in well-to-do households, some of the women find themselves worse off than before.
