Summer is here so we’re bringing you some of the finest live music for your listening pleasure. Over three Friday nights in November and December you can be part of intimate performances by some of Perth’s best artists and bands at the Sonar Room in Fremantle. Come along to listen, go home having been moved and with a song on your lips and in your heart.

Mama Red and the Dark Blues play harmony-drenched country blues with more than a hint of gothic noir. The brainchild of Harry Deluxe and Melanie Bainbridge, they will charm you with their beguiling songs of loves lost, romantic revenge of the foibles of humanity. Ever messing with stereotypes, Mama Red and the Dark Blues have an artistic vision that refuses to be confined by expectations of genre. They’re packed with tongue-in-cheek goodness, music that will move your mind and your soul, and just enough barbs to keep you hooked on their Siren songs for ever.

Aminah Hughes appeared on eleven albums in Australia and Europe before producing her debut solo album, Blue Wooden Boat. Recorded in Ireland, USA, Australia and Germany it has earned her a number of accolades, including a nomination at The Independent Music Awards in New York. She has played international festivals and shared stages with Tommy Emmanuel, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Declan O’Rourke and Waterboys fiddler, Steve Wickham. Praised for her “powerful vulnerability, enhanced by stunning, soulful vocals” (Musical Notes Global, NY), she is joined this evening by some of Perth’s most illustrious musicians.
