'The medium is public' examines the embedded histories and structures of public space in its most utopian form, the public square, while considering more speculative notions of what public space is or could be in our collective consciousness.
The exhibition questions the accessibility of this public ‘zone’; the potential for individual and collective participation; and asks by engaging with physical and conceptual manifestations of public space, what are the implications for the artwork, the artist and the audience.
