The final concert in The Metropolitan Orchestra’s eleventh season will not only cap off another incredible year of music-making, but heralds the start of an exciting new phase in TMO’s amazing journey when they farewell the Eugene Goossens Hall after seven glorious years.

Conducted by Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams, Met Concert 5 begins with an absolute concert favourite, Borodin’s ‘In The Steppes of Central Asia’. This thematic work sets the scene for an incredible night filled with wonderful musical imagery. Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 is one of the most famous and most performed violin concertos of all time. TMO introduces their vivacious concertmaster, Victoria Jacono-Gilmovich as soloist for this lyrical and complex work for violin.

Sibelius’ Symphony Number 5 is a magnificent work which is characteristic of his mature and illustrative style. Inspired by the flight of Swans, this incredible symphony presents an energised climax to an enormous 2019, positively setting the scene for an electrifying 2020 concert season.
