Canberra Blues Society April Blues Jam will be hosted by The Minglewood Blues Band - formed by four like-minded fanatical Blues musicians a few years ago to play the blues for the fun and love of it. The Band has already played quite a few shows & blues festivals so far which were very well received, and are very excited about their future.

Rick Bamford has been there and done that over the years. His love of performing has been with him his whole career. After 25 years of touring shows, Rick settled in the Canberra region. His passion for the Blues has never wavered as he continues to woo the crowds with his rasping vocals, lead & slide guitar and his passion for entertaining.

Dean Edgecombe (Deano) has been wooing audiences all over Australia for longer than he cares to think about. His driving bass lines & his undying passion for the blues has seen him punch out the back line for many renowned bands.

Deano came to Canberra many years ago after cutting his teeth in the Sydney blues scene & has proven to be a consummate performer ever since arriving. The way Deano lays down a solid bass line & handles all the different feels is second to none.

Bernard Morris (Berno) started his compulsion for drums with a dilapidated $150 kit as a 17 year old. After moving to Canberra he found himself in a local band playomg rock ‘n’ roll, blues and contemporary parties and events.

Meeting Deano and Rick at the CBS Jam workshops he found himself amongst some major Blues legends, so the pressure is really on for him to dive deeply and properly into the blues. He’d better get another kit at least.

James Hoogstad (Hoogie) cut his musical teeth in an Adelaide blues outfit ‘Too Many Cats’ where he also learned how to drink too much, smoke cigarettes and play tenor sax all at the same time. Rock ‘n’ roll bands followed. The mid ‘noughties’ saw a return to more soulful music and now he completes the full circle back to blues music, which is a mighty fine place to be.

The host band will be followed by some of the finest musicians in the region jamming together for a great afternoon of live music. Bring your family bring your friends & bring your dancing shoes.
