Michael and Claire are a drag queen/drag king double act, best friends, and in monogamous gay relationships. When the pair suddenly find themselves falling in love, they are forced to reassess everything they thought they knew about themselves, and question where performance ends and their real desires begin.
From rising Melbourne queer writing duo Darwent & Gray (2017’s Bed Reckoning, 2016’s The Adulteresses), The Rest Is Drag premiered at Melbourne Fringe Festival 2018 at The Butterfly Club. Now returning by popular demand, this hilarious and heartfelt blend of cabaret and musical theatre questions traditional understandings of identity, and the ways in which everyone, even queer people, can restrictively define themselves by labels.
Starring Jack Beeby (Six Inches Uncut), Anna Burley (Ira Luxuria), Daniel Kim and Jess Cook, and featuring an entirely original score, ‘The Rest is Drag’ is the polyamorous/pansexual/non-binary musical you’ve been waiting for! Bring your friends! Bring your lovers! Use it to come out to your conservative parents!

Praise for Darwent & Gray's Bed Reckoning:
"[a] funny, original musical comedy...incorporating clever, witty banter, some delightful poignant moments and a wonderful musical score, Bed Reckoning is 50 minutes of engaging entertainment…a thoroughly enjoyable show and recommended viewing.” - Weekend Notes

Praise for Darwent & Gray's The Adulteresses:
‘a sharply written hour of charming comedy, powerfully delivered show tunes and campy good feelings…a classy, funny, nostalgic good time. Four stars.' - The Age
