Made up of three brothers and two mates, no other Australian band sounds like ’em. An explosion of funk, flute, sax, synth and groove, the dance floor is packed at a Vaudeville Smash gig. In case you’re wondering, they took their name from an Italian children’s karaoke machine that was around in the late ’80s.

In 2016, Vaudeville Smash released their sophomore album The Gift. A synth heavy, sax laden, bass induced journey. A contemporary reworking of the early 80s funk/boogie scene, the album evokes visions of Cameo, Midnight Star and the Gap Band and encompasses almost two years of writing, recording and touring.

Since their first gig at Fitzroy’s Bar Open in September 2009, Vaudeville Smash have carved their own niche, building a formidable following in their hometown of Melbourne and around the world. Their international adventures have seen them sign with Japan's P-Vine records, after returning to Tokyo and the Sapporo City Jazz Festival in July 2015 for the third consecutive year, where they also filmed the video for their single Richter Scale. Other notable mentions include playing the South by South West conference in Austin Texas twice (having been invited back), shows in New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Toronto for Canadian Music Week, main stage at St Kilda Festival, the Australian Open Tennis, selling out the Corner Hotel twice, and many unforgettable shows at Woodford Folk Festival 2015/16 and 2017/18.

May 2014 saw another exciting chapter in the eclectic Vaudeville Smash story, with the release of their world wide smash, Zinedine Zidane. The single, featuring the voice of Australian soccer, Les Murray, quickly became a viral hit, garnering over nine million youtube views, and was featured in some of the biggest publications on the planet, including Billboard, ESPN, Eurosport and the BBC.
