Get out your diary and mark out the second Wednesday of each month to hang out with Perth's late night cabaret idiot Tomás Ford. His Legendary Second Wednesday Floorshow is building a reputation for being a one-of-a-kind, impossible to describe, comedy-disco-punk-cabaret thrill ride.

After a start in the grimiest Perth music venues back in the early 2000s, Tomás has built a career that sees him on a never-ending tour. He's notorious everywhere from Edinburgh to Kalgoorlie to Kuala Lumpur to Christchurch. It'd been a while since he'd had somewhere to regularly bust out his hyperactive crooning in Perth, and so he decided it was time for a monthly Vegas-style residency in his favorite comedy venue.

Ford’s shows have become the stuff of urban legend in Perth. You might've seen him in a theatre, at a music festival or at his ridiculous Crap Music Rave Party DJ shows. Over fifteen-ish intense years of touring, his shows have earned acclaim and derision around the world, played to everything from four people to a sold out festival runs, and have picked up awards all over the place. While the content of his floorshow changes each month, you can expect an intimate trip through Tomás’ twisted back catalogue of original songs and unexpected covers. It's as much fun for Ford-first-timers as it is for die-hard Ford fans.

If you've never had the (questionable) pleasure, the show he does is something like this; he croons with his Early-Bryan-Ferry-Meets-Iggy-Pop-Meets-Non-Racist-Morrissey voice over a musical bed of his pumping synthesizers and drum machines. He does his best to overload your brain with visual information - whether it's a startling backdrop of home-made video projections, a light show cobbled together at a hardware store or a wardrobe of whatever truly ridiculous costumes his Mum has invented. That's not even mentioning the wild ride of his performance style; it's as silly and hilarious as it is punk-rock. It's hard to describe, because nobody else does the kind of thing he does. So you'll just have to see it for yourself.

Book before you forget to book! These intimate floorshows are a super-special, super-fun good time and not to be missed.
