Touring to 42 communities across 34 local government areas Topology presents 'Queensland At Home'. A time capsule of vintage film from the State Library of Queensland accompanied by a live original score composed by Robert Davidson and performed by Topology alongside local partners and collaborators, creating an evocative portrait of life in Queensland.

Packing in an illustrious 20 years as one of Queensland’s finest arts organisations, ARIA nominated Topology have become one of the defining sounds of Queensland. In their current endeavour Topology have teamed up with the Queensland State Library to create ‘Queensland at Home’ a time capsule of vintage film accompanied by a live original score performed by the band local partners and collaborators that paints an evocative portrait of life in Queensland dating back to the early 20th Century. Composed by Topology's Robert Davidson. The live score is inspired by the sights and sounds of times past and interwoven across a compelling compilation of footage of Queenslanders engaging in everyday activities across the millennia.

2018 saw The Queensland at Home tour play over 20 towns across Queensland from Babinda, Childers and Roma to Charleville, St George and Longreach, and 2019 will see them continue on to over 20 more!

In addition to the live performances, the tour will incorporate 45 workshops as part of the Top Up Music Education program, facilitating local students and community participants to compose their own live score to be featured at the performance alongside Queensland at Home.

The Queensland at Home tour began in August 2018 and with over 4000 people engaged and participating, makes it one of the largest tours for Topology to date and a one-of-a-kind cultural collaboration experience for all involved.

Performing in a range of iconic community venues from vintage and modern cinemas, entertainment centres and outdoor venues to well-loved community halls: local communities are planning special activities all around the state as a part of the Queensland at Home tour including markets, media activities, documentaries, short films, exhibitions of the local footage and photographs and more.

Get involved: Topology would like to invite you to help preserve Queensland’s history and be a part of Queensland at Home—in a call out for vintage home movies and photographs from the local residents of regional Queensland, if you are from any of the towns listed below and have a piece of your history to add to the time capsule of Queensland at Home please email christa@topologymusic.com.
