Do you want sketch when you travel, but you don’t know to fit it into a tight schedule? Not sure what to pack so that it’s light and easy? Don’t know what to sketch or how to set up when in a new place? Then this fun one day workshop is for you! Ochre Lawson is an experienced artist and teacher who loves to sketch and paint outdoors. Whether she’s hiking with a group in the Swiss Alps or Tasmania or just in her local neighbourhood, she has a wealth of knowledge to make working outdoors easier and fun.

Students spend the day exploring local sites within easy walking distance, doing quick ink pen and watercolour drawings in a small travel journal*. Ochre will demonstrate drawing and watercolour techniques, compositional devices, techniques in drawing perspective and proportion, how to create depth, how to draw trees, water and, streetscapes. This workshop will take place in a picturesque local park near a cafe and amenities. (Location to be advised closer to the day).

Classes for Everyone in Sydney’s Inner West

Art Est. offers a boutique learning experience for adults, teens and children. Located in a spacious, light-filled heritage warehouse, with four dedicated teaching studios, an art gallery and a new ceramics studio. Our class sizes are kept to only 10–12 students (8 for wheel throwing pottery), ensuring each student receives the individual tuition they need.

Art classes for adults are available weekdays, evenings and Saturday mornings. We also have a great range of single day weekend art workshops available, a perfect option for visitors to Sydney looking for things to do, or for someone who doesn’t have time to commit to a term class.

Kids and Teens can build their creative skills at our after school and Saturday term classes as well as our school holiday workshops each and every holiday.
