Welcome days are a great chance to come and see what Chenrezig Institute has to offer. There are many activities organised for the Welcome Day, so please feel free to come for an event or just to see the many attractions and parts of our diverse Buddhist Center. Bring the family along or perhaps give yourself a day to explore in quiet contemplation. All are welcome!

This quarter, Welcome Day falls on Chokhor Duchen—one of the four great holy days of the Tibetan Buddhist calendar. Also known as the Festival of Turning the Wheel of Dharma, Chokhor Duchen commemorates the anniversary on which Shakyamuni Buddha first began teaching the Dharma. Buddha Shakyamuni turned the Wheel of Dharma for the first time in Sarnath, India by teaching on the four noble truths. On this Auspicious day our teacher Geshe Phuntsok Tsultrim will be giving a public talk on the benefits of Buddhist thought in this day and age.

Here is the schedule for activities:

- Kind Kids 9:30am–10:30am in the Tara Room. For all children of all ages. Parents welcome!
How we Relate to Others (Forgiveness, Respect, Gratitude, Loyalty)

- Library Book Sale 11:00am–2:00pm at the Library

- Wildlife Nest Box Talk and Demonstration With Liam Pratt - 11:00am–12:00noon on the Prayer Wheel Lawn.

Come and meet Liam Pratt, Environmental Scientist and founder of Biodiverse Environmental, to help us get a better understanding of how to successfully build, put up and monitor wildlife nest boxes on your property.

- Lunch at the Big Love Café 12:00pm–1:00pm (Please book before 10:00am)

- Public Talk with Geshela 1:30pm–2:30pm in the Gompa (see details above)

- Shakyamuni Buddha Puja 3:00pm–4:30pm in the Gompa
