Learn about the macro-invertebrates that live in our creeks, rivers and lakes and participate in activities run by the Environmental Education for Kids team around how you can keep our waterways healthy.
David De Angelis, a local naturalist and ecological consultant, will talk about frogs found in the Yarra Ranges and surrounding area.
You will:
- learn how to identify different frog species
- hear the calls of local frogs
- understand aspects of frog biology
- discover habitat preferences
- learn about conservation and how we can ensure our frog population is cared for.
Water monitoring: 9am–10:30am
Frog talk: 10:30am–11:30am
This event is the first in a series we will be running throughout the year. Other events may include a bat talk, a fungi walk in the Dandenong Ranges, a waste talk and tour, and a talk and demonstration for Threatened Species Day/Biodiversity month.
