10 Minute Dance Parties

This free, interactive dance party for all ages invites you to have as much fun as you can in just 10 minutes. Shimmy, shake, bop and boogie inside a converted shipping container right out the front of Arts Centre Melbourne!

Led by artist JOF and DJed by young locals, join family and friends on the dancefloor in celebration of the universal nature of dance. There’ll be world record attempts, dance move competitions, song dedications and ventures into the unknown.

Become a 10 minute DJ! 10 Minute Dance Parties take place every half hour from 11am - 3.30pm from Thursday 16 Jan - Sunday 19 Jan and Tuesday 21 Jan - Friday 24 Jan.

In collaboration with Arts Centre Melbourne’s learning hub, The Channel, approximately 40 young people aged between 13 and 18 years of age will learn how to DJ in a free one-day workshop on either Monday 13 January or Tuesday 14 January and then be part of the line-up for the 10 Minute Dance Parties in the shipping container.

Aspiring DJs don’t need any prior experience as they will learn everything they need to know in the workshop.
