Afghan New Year – Nowroz 1399 – Fundraising Feast

In celebration of the New Year holiday, The Australian Afghanistan Development Organisation (AADO) will hold a garden party the following day (Sunday 22nd March) to benefit women living in rural Afghanistan.

All funds raised at Nowroz 1399 will fund 12-month Literacy and Livelihoods Program (sewing skills) for 150 village women living in regional Kabul.By teaching these women to read and earn a living, they become a key member of the household. It changes their existence, the lives of their families and the prospects of their daughters, forever.

The Nowroz fundraiser takes place in a historic home in Ascot Vale. The garden party is $55 per adult (kids are free) and includes a New Year fruit drink, finger food, cooking demonstrations and a full Afghan buffet—supplied by The Afghan Gallery of Fitzroy.
