Artist Talk with Miriam Innes

Meet local artist Miriam Innes and hear more about her drawing practice at this presentation of her work. Miriam won the Local Award in the recent Du Rietz Art Awards with her detailed charcoal drawing of upper Mary Street titled “Where were you when…”.
Miriam is best known for her large scale charcoal installations of hyper-realistic sprawling streetscapes. Born in Ireland, she feels like she oscillates between two worlds - the natural and built environment, and the organic qualities of her medium, charcoal, found close to her home.
This event is held in conjunction with her exhibition “Roundabout: New York and Gympie”, on view from 9 – 30 September.
