Code Like a Girl

This January we’re dreaming up new destinations, learning exotic languages and designing services for future travellers at our School Holiday, 3-day Coding Camp for girls ages 8-12.

HAVE YOU ALWAYS DREAMED OF JET-SETTING AROUND THE GLOBE? HOW ABOUT EXPLORING NEW WORLDS?
Well get your passport and pack for every season, because we’re going on an adventure!

DESTINATION UNKNOWN
Hop aboard the S.S. Code Queen and join our Girl Gang for an excursion of epic proportions!

The destination? As far as your imagination can take you.
When do we depart? This summer school holidays.
How will we get there? With coding magic, of course!

LEARNING THE LANGUAGE
The most intrepid travellers always learn the local language.

By the time you return home, your passport will have a stamp for each of the following:

Javascript – The most popular programming language that sits behind the magic of the web.
HTML & CSS – Simply put, HTML is the structure and content of every web development, while CSS is the style. These two languages work hand-in-glove and are a great foundation for any coder.
Makey Makey – Using a circuit board, alligator clips, and a USB cable, Makey Makey is an electronic invention kit that allows users to connect everyday objects to computer programs using closed-loop electrical signals.

Not a native coder? No worries. Our cabin crew are on hand at all times to ensure it’s smooth sailing for even the freshest explorers.

CABIN CREW
We have a team of experienced and dedicated facilitators from Code Like a Girl who will facilitate and supervise the workshop. All facilitators have a contagious passion for technology and a current working with children check.
