Join me on January 31 for a Dancing Freedom exploration into Active Hope. 2020 has commenced with some serious shifts, changes and opportunities to wake up to the bigger planetary picture.

For some, when we truly allow ourselves to look at it all—it may cause feelings of fear, despair, a loss of hope and a sense of not knowing where to contribute one's energy to make a difference. For me, Active Hope is doing whatever must be done to build my inner resources, so that I may be a resilient agent of change in the world. This journey calls me to consciously face my fears, my rage, my despair and allow myself to dream of new possibilities that are upon us, at this great time of transformation.
Dance is a great tool that can build personal resiliency and grow one's inner resources.

Dance creates a safe space for each of us to boldly face and give expression to the feelings and emotions that we carry inside and allow them to show us a way forward. The body, just like our greater body- the Earth- carries an intelligence far greater than the mind can ever comprehend. It knows how to heal, how to let go, how to transmute and transform.

This Friday, let us come together in motion- to drop out of our minds and allow the body to lead us towards, an Active Hope.

I shall meet you there

"Active Hope is something we do rather than have. It involves being clear what we hope for and then playing our role in the process of bringing that about. The journey of finding, and offering, our unique contribution to the Great Turning helps us to discover new strengths, open to a wider network of allies and experience a deepening of our aliveness. When our responses are guided by the intention to act for the healing of our world, the mess we’re in not only becomes easier to face, our lives also become more meaningful and satisfying." - Joanna Macy (Active Hope: How To Face The Mess We're In Without Going Crazy)

What is Dancing Freedom?
Dancing Freedom is a somatic, ecstatic and shamanic dance practise that supports the re-emergence of embodied wholeness. By gathering in the community we dance an elemental wave, tapping into the fundamental building blocks that we are made of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. Together, we co-create a safe space for Y(our) true self to experience full-bodied expression.

In this movement practice, we dance in a ceremony; we give ourselves permission to enter the mythic, to work with our intent and welcome our felt senses to weave a new reality for ourselves and all our relations. All bodies, abilities and backgrounds are welcome. The practise supports physical fitness, emotional and spiritual healing, personal and leadership development and the ability to create and sustain healthy relationships.

(If you have no cash—we will have bank details at the door for you to do a transfer).
(If financial flow is an issue- please reach out and we can find a way for you to participate).

If you are curious about the kind of vibe I like to share- you can check out a bunch of my playlists on mixcloud. Phoenix is the director and lead teacher trainer of this movement practice- sharing this embodied wisdom with dance medicine carriers from around the globe. She brings love, devotion and authenticity to her classes that can be felt by all.
