Drawing + Oil Painting Bootcamp and Master Class for Teens

This is a 2 full days drawing+oil painting master class bootcamp for 10+ years old.

This 2 days workshop is a comprehensive overview of classical drawing techniques using pencil, ink, charcoal and chalk. Students will begin with different strategies for measuring proportion accurately, then progress to a variety of different strategies for rendering form and showing volume through tone; using black and white chalk on toned paper, a charcoal wipe out method and hatching and cross hatching. Students will also get a grounding in simple perspective, landscape drawing using ink and tips and tricks for drawing a portrait.

Then the tutor will introduce students to the foundations of classical oil painting. They will learn the technical aspects of managing the materials correctly, the use of coloured grounds, how to paint a monochrome underpainting, how to transfer a design to canvas, mixing and applying colour and how to set and use a limited palette. Students will have the opportunity to create two still life paintings, one in monochrome and one in colour as well as an old master copy.
