Dear Australian Optometry Colleagues.

Eye Institute Auckland are thrilled to announce our 2020 Annual Optometry Conference.

Join us virtually for an exciting and informative day of rapid fire presentations.

Accompany your peers in listening to our 15 world class surgeons speak on the latest techniques and advancements in ophthalmic treatment.

We are also delighted to announce our guest speaker for this conference is Sir John Kirwan, one of our most well known All Blacks who will be sharing his own personal journey of depression, resilience and hope; aiding in our conference theme of facilitating positive health and well being in the workplace.

Refund if conference does not go ahead
We understand that times are unsettling at the moment so a full refund will be given to everyone if we move out of level 1 and need to cancel this event.

Some topics for the day include:
• High integrity retinal reattachment - when 6/12 isn't necessarily 6/12 after successful macula-off retinal detachment surgery.
• Personalised ophthalmic care using the latest genetics research- are we there yet?
• Examining the vitreous.
• It's dry eye.... isnt it??
• More topics to be given in next invite!

Live streaming
We are going to be live streaming this conference if you are from out of Auckland or prefer to watch this at home. The cost for this is $90.

Sir John Kirwan (JK) is one of New Zealand's favourite former All Blacks. Playing for our national team for a decade, he holds the New Zealand record for the most first class rugby tries. Since retiring from professional sports he has bravely shared his active involvement with mental health awareness campaigns in New Zealand. JK's willingness to share his story and his dedication to this cause has gone a long way to removing the stigma that surrounds depression and mental illness in New Zealand. Our theme for our annual conference this year is positive health and wellness in the workplace, and we strive to continuously create a culture that improves and enhances the lives of our team members.

The cost to watch this via Live streaming is $90 NZD.

Tickets are purchased on the NZ Eventfinda, not the Australia site.
