Fremantle’S Kings Square is the new location for the famed Freo Long Table Dinner, now in its fifth year.

The National Hotel and St Patrick’s Community Support Centre have again teamed up to put on the popular fundraiser.

The November 28 event will feature numerous high-profile chefs including TV’s Anna Gare, Kailis Fish Market Café head chef Pete Manifis, Bread in Common’s Scott Brannigan, Manuka Woodfire Kitchen’s Kenny McHardy and Melissa Palinkas from Young George and Ethos.

Students from the Empyrean Education Institute will provide additional support in the National Hotel kitchen.

The three-course dinner will be accompanied by the some of the state’s best wines and local craft beers from Little Creatures, Leeuwin Estate, Ferngrove Estate and Capel Vale Wines.

National Hotel owner Karl Bullers started the fundraiser in 2016 and was looking to shake things up this year, moving the event from High Street to Kings Square, as part of a larger free community event.

“As well as a fantastic dinner, ticketholders will be treated to an evening of entertainment provided by some of Fremantle’s most incredible musicians and performers,” he said.

“We’re delighted to have Circus WA back on board and look forward to announcing our guest MC and headline act soon.

“This year’s Freo Long Table Dinner is set to be extra special, not only because of its new location but it’s also the first time it will take place on a Saturday.”

St Pat’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Piu said the Freo Long Table Dinner had played a key role in strengthening the community over the past five years.

He said 2020 had been an exceptionally difficult year for everyone and he looked forward to bringing together the Fremantle community through this year’s event.

“While St Pat’s has risen to many new challenges in 2020, the need within the community continues to grow significantly,” Mr Piu said.

“The Freo Long Table Dinner is absolutely pivotal in enabling St Pat’s to continue providing wrap-around services for people who are struggling.

“We rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the Fremantle community to ensure we can reach everyone who needs support.

“This year’s Freo Long Table Dinner is also an excellent opportunity to come together for a common cause and reignite the community spirit that has been challenged in
unprecedented ways over the past six months.”

The Freo Long Table Dinner will take place at 7pm, Saturday, November 28 – other major sponsors include Patrick Terminals, Dethridge Groves, the City of Fremantle and Bendigo Bank.

The National Hotel will be open throughout the day and evening, with the community invited to enjoy a refreshing drink at one of the venue’s bars or while taking in the views from the spectacular rooftop.
