Jackie Bornstein

Captivating singer Jackie Bornstein and her top band explore jazz as a force for justice, creativity and unity. Together they bring to life powerful stories and music of jazz artists who have taken a stand against injustices, from Billie Holiday to Louis Armstrong and Vince Jones.

"An enchanting vocalist and captivating storyteller." - AustralianJazz.net

Known for her rich vocals and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie Bornstein enchants audiences with her emotive delivery and brings a powerful energy to every performance.

Trained classically as a child, Jackie studied jazz at the Victorian College of the Arts and completed a UK Masters scholarship on the role of music in resolving conflict. Upon returning to Melbourne, Jackie has been a regular performer at some of the city’s best jazz venues with sold-out shows at the Melbourne Recital Centre and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival several years running.

Her return to the Melbourne Recital Centre will see Jackie perform songs by composers such as Nina Simone, Duke Ellington, Vince Jones, Sting and more.
