JUDE | The Artisan presents the ethically Melbourne made AW20 Collection of designer Jude Ng. The audience is taken on an intimate and multi-sensory journey, delving into the stories behind the makers of their clothes, and the hand crafted processes which go into the making of their garments.

JUDE will open their artisan studio as the stage upon which The Artisan is set. The studio will be staged as a designer’s workroom in action, lit with vintage spotlights connecting with the shop’s hand crafted and up-cycled interior. The presentation starts with a video projection showing the designer and makers at work, with a background track of sewing machines whirring and fabric scissors cutting against a lo-fi beat. Models emerge from the workroom in thoughtfully layered ensembles, while designer Jude Ng sews and drapes in the background. A platform extends out into the audience, where models centre themselves to emote the different ways the clothing can be worn. They then circle their way back into the workroom where they merge into their final pose, creating a tableau at the end of the show, where they stand as sculptural creations which have emerged from the sewing machines.

The audience will enjoy the presentation in an informal standing arrangement, with staging elevated to bring the work into clear view. They will also be able to shop select pieces from the runway in store, before and after the shows. The event will be fully catered with gourmet nibbles and wine through the night.

There are 2 viewing times for the Runway show:

6.30 pm and 8.30 pm.
