Julie Bradley Workshop - Secrets of Composition

Learn about the principles of composition and once you have these rules mastered let’s explore and break them!

Referencing the Bauhaus and its influential teacher Johannes Itten, we will investigate the influence of natural patterns on our understanding of beauty and balance in composition, learn how to read a picture and hear about ancient ideas of perfection.

Working in simple drawing mixed media and collage techniques we will make a series of small artworks and complete a number of compositional exercises, play some unusual games to improve your composition skills and give you some approaches you can take away with you and apply to your own artworks.
