Legacy Bears Picnic

Fundraising for the 2020 Legacy Week is looking a little different under the new guise of COVID-19 and social distancing restrictions, with Legacy teaming up with Pretty as a Picnic to create the first ever Legacy Bears Picnic.

Offering picnic hampers for two or four people, Pretty as a Picnic will also sell Legacy’s famous teddy bears and Legacy picnic blankets, so families and friends can create their very own Legacy Bears Picnic. Legacy Week (30 August - 5 September 2020) is the time when Legacy is out and about in force, telling the public about the great work it does helping the families of veterans who have given their lives or health. With the country still feeling the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face fundraising in Greater Sydney has now been cancelled, and so the picnic hampers are a way to support Legacy and veterans’ families. Picnic hampers can be ordered online for people and their immediate circle of loved ones, at a safe social distance from others, you can even send one to a friend in Melbourne to let them know that you are thinking of them during these hard times.

Known for their ‘Instagrammable’ picnics and delicious catering, Pretty as a Picnic is all about displaying quality produce; beautifully. The two person picnic hampers will include 3 cheeses, crackers, cured meats, hummus, dried fruits, fresh fruit, chocolates and nuts; with a nut free and vegetarian option available as well. For the four person hamper there will be 4 wraps, 3 cheeses, crackers, dried fruits and nuts in one half and then chocolate brownies, lollies and fresh fruits in the other. $20 from each hamper sold will go directly to Legacy so that they can continue their amazing work to support the families of those who have served in the Australian Defence Force.

In keeping with tradition, picnic goers can purchase Teddy Bears and Badges through the Legacy website or they can purchase a Legacy picnic blanket and teddies as an add-on to their hamper via the Pretty as a Picnic website. Each Teddy is $15 (plus postage) and this year’s collection features two brand new bears among the Legacy favourites, the Light Horse Bear and the Sailor Bear.

Picnic hampers, blankets and teddy bears can be purchased from the Pretty As A Picnic website and donations can be made via the Legacy Week website. All items can be purchased now, apart from picnic blankets which are available for pre-order now for delivery from 27 August.
