Great Aunt is a folk/Americana duo from Melbourne, Australia, rambling a musical line between the plaintive and the joyous. Their music is raw and austere, simple and bold; full of stomping feet and clapping hands, chants and harmonies, whispered words and soulful lament. Set somewhere between a gospel church in Louisiana and a dimly-lit speakeasy in Melbourne, listeners will hear tales of joy and grief, whiskey and wine, gratitude and purpose-seeking

Gareth Leach...

Drawing inspiration from the introspective and reflective lyrical concepts of his Outlaw heroes, established songwriter Gareth Leach has collaborated with musicians from the country, folk, punk and pop industries to refine and realise the ideas of the songwriter.

His debut single “Freeway Lines” from his debut EP Settle Like Stones (2016), peaked at No.10 on Australian Country Radio. 2017 was a year of touring and new music, with 2018 marking his return with debut full length album, Death & Taxes, released on September 14, 2018.

Produced by Tyson Fish (Vance Joy) and featuring collaborations with songstress Gretta Ziller, the album is rich in heartfelt moments and unwavering emotion.

“Turn Back Jimmy Creek”, the first single from the debuted at No. 4 on iTunes, was added to the A-List Americana Playlist and Aussie Country Playlists, CMC programming, is played on Radio Australia wide and charted on many charts including 2 on MCA and topping Australian Country Radio charts at No. 1 and remained in the top 10 for over 2 months.

The title track has been added to the Apple Music Americana A-List Playlist and CMC programming. The album debuted at No.3 on the iTunes Country Charts.
