MEMO is excited to announce for the first time The Melbourne Tango Orchestra who are Australia’s only orquesta típica.
The Melbourne Tango Orchestra will be performing repertoire from tango’s Golden Era and beyond, this twelve-piece orchestra features strings, piano, double bass and the notorious bandoneón, the quintessential symbol of Argentinean tango.
Enriched by the charming voice of Argentinean-born vocalist Juan Veron, these fierce musicians as well as special guests from Melbourne tango dance scene, bring the "art of tango" to life. Doing away with cliché, the Melbourne Tango Orchestra is contemporary, urban and edgy.
