Mining Emergency Response Competition (MERC)

The 10th Annual Mining Emergency Response Competition (MERC) will be held at Langley Park, from Saturday 28th November to Sunday 29th November 2020.

MERC is a free event for the public to attend and FUN for the whole family, so why not make a day of it, support and watch our emergency rescue teams participate in a series of realistic scenarios covering all emergency response disciplines from road crash rescue, hazardous material response, vertical rescue, firefighting, confined space, emergency team readiness to first aid.

The metropolitan location of the MERC is truly unique as it provides Perth based industry representatives, FIFO workers, mining families and the local community the opportunity to view, firsthand, the skills of mining response teams who help to ensure safe workplaces and communities in the event of an emergency.

MERC is a fantastic family day out and fun for all ages! This year, we will have bouncy castles, rock climbing and educational activities for the kids. Why not grab yourself a seat at one of the grandstands and watch the action unfold as the teams compete in an EPIC emergency rescue!
