Out of His Shadow is a concert celebrating International Women's Day, featuring Bonnie de la Hunty, Lucy Schneider, and Jessica Taylor, along with chamber ensembles from within the Harmonia Australis orchestra and collaborative pianist, Caroline Badnall.
We invite you to this afternoon soiree to experience voices which have been historically silenced or marginalised, and to celebrate a brighter future. This concert is entirely female-run and performed, celebrating the music of Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn, Lili Boulanger, Amy Beach and other female composers of the past, while also sharing some incredible new works.
We are proud to present Amanda Harberg's stunning Suite for Wind Quintet, as well as an Australian premiere commissioned for this event from Australian composer Rachel Bruerville.
