The Perth Folk and Roots Club marches into February at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has the Jenny Gaunt Band and Green Herring.

"Perth Folk and Roots Club welcomes Jenny Gaunt Band and Green Herring to perform at Perth Folk and Roots Club," said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

Jenny Gaunt is a songwriter and musician from Perth. She has a folk/alternative style has been described as “hauntingly beautiful.” Releasing her debut solo EP, her songs are carried by guitar, keys and cello also supported by bass, percussion, banjo, clarinet and glockenspiel. Jenny is a multi-instrumentalist with a social conscience. Personal, authentic, mixing the lighthearted with the melancholy with a focus on feeling. Jenny’s experience touring Europe, Australia and within the West Australian folk scene has well prepared her to step out solo.

She mixes a proven love of storytelling with raw feeling to create her new songs. A road trip to the North of Western Australia led Jenny to write song ‘Complete’, about being connected to a land so red and a sky so blue it takes your breath away. The accompanying music video features footage from this journey.

Green Herring, is made up of Lee Goodall and Irma Lachmund, an acoustic duo, both playing mandolin and guitar. They write and songs about the environment that aim to inspire people to take action for a better world. They have previously performed for Perth Folk and Roots Club in Guildford and Mt Lawley and have also performed at Bridgetown Blues Festival and the Bony Mountain Folk Festival and the Nerum Creek Music Festival in Queensland. Green Herring is planning on travelling around Australia for the next twelve months in a big camper bus performing music as they go so this is a send-off for them before they hit the road.

"As always we are also looking for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience," Keith added.
