Perth Folk and Roots Club has survived the coronavirus lockdowns to be back with folk and roots music at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 28th June 2020 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has Fiona Heath and the Strays.

‘Perth Folk and Roots Club is glad to be back after the coronavirus to bring performances by Fiona Heath and the Strays who will be bringing the joy of music to the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club ‘, said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

Fiona Heath is originally from New Zealand and brings expressive performance of original songs featuring acoustic music with jazz and soul influences. Fiona previously played with the Perth group the Dreamers and has performed in Europe. Fiona has been performing in and around Perth including the Pickers and Slidders at the Flying Scotsman, the Perth Blues Club, the Boulevard Tavern in Joondalup, the Gas Light Club and Gypsy Tapas in Fremantle. Fiona Heath has been a crowd favourite at past Perth Folk and Roots Club shows and is not to be missed.

The Strays formed in 2012 and came together with the current lineup in late 2014. They are a group of seasoned musicians with diverse musical histories and influences. The Strays’ songs are all original and composed by the band collectively; from acoustic guitar and folk melodies through to electric guitar reggae and rock. The Strays originals get their followers singing and dancing in the finest tradition of catchy pop songs. The Strays are singer, song writer and rhythm guitarist Martin Gregory; percussionist Allan Wilkerson; keyboards and vocalist Leonie Squire; lead guitarist Fred Wehr; and bass guitarist Andrew Heard. The Strays have an all-electric rock band and for Perth Folk and Roots Club they are offering a performance emphasizing their acoustic sounds.

‘As always we are also looking for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience’, Keith added.

Please note the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club is hosting the Perth Folk and Roots Club as a free event for its members and guests with memberships offered at a very reasonable cost to Perth Folk and Roots Club supporters.
