PHYLLi Designs - Hatmaker Workshop

Step into the world of PHYLLi Designs, for a night of drinks, canapés, hats and a little pampering. The evening will commence with drinks and canapés on arrival at SOAK Bar + Beauty, a time to meet the maker and settle in.

The evening presentation will include a talk by Laura Hall, effervescent founder behind the brand, on the history of PHYLLi, the evolution of her trademark Strickland hat and a demonstration of the maker process. The private space will be set up to support a creative demonstration where Laura will shape the crown of a preblocked hat and distressing the hat by flame. Finally, trimming and personalising the hat to its custom finish.

Attendees will then have the opportunity to select custom trim and finishes for their own custom hat, from a selection of fabrics, silks, ribbons and thread. Laura and an assistant will be there to help assemble or stitch where necessary in this part of the evening. *Note - felt colour and size has been determined and blocked for each attendee prior to the workshop

In this section of the evening there will be 2-3 beauticians for participants to receive an express hair or makeup touch up to complete their look, ready for the PHYLLi selfie wall.
