About the SA Variety Bash - "Ki to the Capital"

This year marks the 32nd anniversary of the Variety Bash in South Australia. For the first time in the event’s history, the Bash was postponed and, due to COVID-19 restrictions, was replaced with a shorter event that will travel within the South Australian borders from 7 – 12 November.

The ‘KI to the Capital’ event, sponsored by Tim Adams Wines /Mr Mick, will see more than 300 crazily costumed entrants and 100 colourful vehicles start in Kingscote, Kangaroo Island and, over five fun-filled days, make its way through Robe, Mt Gambier and Loxton to finish in Glenelg.

The event, hoping to raise more than $1 million (net) for children in need, will bring much needed economic benefit to regional areas of South Australia through supplies, meals and accommodation as well as presenting more than a quarter of a million dollars in grant funding throughout the State.

Variety Bash entrants will get to see their fundraising efforts first hand over the five-day event, with grants totalling $290, 673 presented along the route, including $50K from Bendigo Bank funded by the generous donors of the South Australian Bushfire Appeal.

Over the past 31 years, the SA Bash alone has raised in excess of $44 million (net) for South Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or live with special needs.
