BJ Connolly, Jo Gowda & Lochie Wagner: Spicy, Buff & Autistic

Following a highly successful sold out show as part of the 2019 Bris Funny Fest; Jo (Spicy), Lochie (Buff) and BJ (Autistic) are bringing their show to The Sit Down Comedy Fringe Festival!

BJ Connolly makes jokes about his autism and uses comedy as a platform to make light of all the awkward social encounters he experienced during his childhood, whilst attempting to develop his social skills and better understand the neurotypical world. BJ is also asexual, and he shares the benefits of not finding anyone sexually attractive. BJ’s proudest comedy moment to date was hosting a comedy show in Lismore, NSW which featured Aussie comedy legend Steady Eddy as the headliner. Other achievements include; Raw Comedy Queensland State-Finalist 2019, Support Act for Anne Ferguson-Howe at her 2019 Bris Funny Fest Show "PC Impaired". Support act for Sarah Kate Young at her 2019 Show "Foxy Moron". Nick Carr says that "BJ is the most enthusiastic comedian of all time." Lindsay Webb says that "BJ is like a character from a movie who you can talk to in real life."

Jo Gowda - An Indian born Australian stand-up comedian. As a new mum, one day whilst experiencing the many joys of motherhood (bored AF) and watching Ellen she thought she’d give stand-up comedy a go and is therefore milking her maternity leave (pun intended). Jo performs hysterical observations about her Indian heritage, her new Australian life and side-splitting scrutiny of parenting. You’ll find her humour relatable, amusing and sprinkled with dry wit. Achievements: Raw Comedy Queensland State Finalist 2019 (She made the state final in her 4th ever gig).

Lochie Wagner - Owning and running a gym sounds like a tough gig, and it is. But it sure does give you a lot of people to poke fun at and tell stories about! Lochie shares his journey about being a Personal Trainer, meeting his now wife, opening his gym and meeting and helping some of the best and worst people along the way. His stories will fascinate you and give you an insider’s look on what it is to be young, married and a business owner - and how the age old strategy of ‘treat ‘em mean, keep ‘em keen’ still works in today’s world. Achievements: Raw Comedy Queensland State Finalist 2019 (He made the state final in his 3rd ever gig). Best Gym In Toowoomba - 2019 (unrelated but still cool).
