Finding Our Way Home: Navigating the Journey to SDA.

People with disability have more choice about where they live than ever before.
With the NDIS, many have successfully navigated the journey to Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) and are living happier, more independent lives.

However, there are many more that are not aware that SDA is an option. Others have experienced difficulties along their journey to SDA. There can be many barriers between a person hearing about and understanding the opportunity and being able to move into the housing of their choice.

Join us at our Summer Foundation Annual Public Forum on Thursday 12 November as we discuss finding our way home – navigating the journey to SDA.

People at different stages of their journey to living happier, more independent lives in SDA will share their stories. We’ll also hear from policymakers and sector professionals about how to streamline the SDA journey.

Let’s get together to celebrate how life-changing SDA can be for people with disability and discuss what changes are in play to make it a reality for many more.

Presenter
Beverley O’Connor (ABC News 24) will lead the panel at this year’s forum.

Panellist:
- Liz Ellis - A younger woman who will share her journey to SDA
- Jonathon Bredin - A younger man who will share his journey to SDA
