Super Massive are bringing their ultra-funky, live dance-rock music back to Duke's Parlour.

Fronted by dynamic vocalist, Malina Hamilton-Smith, together with funky drummer Glenn Abbott (alias Bryan Ferrysexual from Machine Gun Fellatio, and Disco Disciples) and Henrix-esque guitarist Tyr Kovacic (aka The Disco Jesus from Disco Disciples), Super Massive is a three-piece rock band plus multi-layered synthscapes set to slammingly rocked-up dance beats that will absolutely get your body moving.

The band's sound is influenced by electro bands like Daft Punk, Goldfrapp and Depeche Mode, rock bands like ACDC and Led Zeppelin, and 70s disco / funk bands like Chic and the Brothers Johnson: A creative, unique sound that's seriously good.

The band burst onto the scene in 2008 with an award-winning debut self-titled EP and single "Fists In My Pocket" that received airplay in Australia and overseas and went to #1 on a number of indie charts. They released two follow up singles that also went to #1 on indie radio charts and toured Australia and Asia for six years, playing festivals and shows alongside a diverse range of artists including Machine Gun Fellatio, Def FX, Deborah Conway, Bertie Blackman, King Tide and Megan Washington before taking a break in 2014 in which they relocated from Sydney to the Gold Coast.

In 2019 they returned to playing live and released two singles, "Meltwater" and "We're Taking Over", which have had airplay on commercial rock radio in Queensland, ABC Radio and numerous community radio stations in Australia and overseas.

Their catchy, dance-driven songs have been described as "more infectious than the plague." Don't miss this chance to catch them live in the Duke's Parlour cocktail lounge bar below The Island, Surfers Paradise.

Doors open 9pm. Band onstage from 10pm to midnight, with a DJ on afterwards until 3am guaranteed!
