Cotton Club Orchestra | Return to The 20s
This swinging show will take you back to the Roaring Twenties and the hottest nightclub in Harlem—The Cotton Club.
Playing classic tunes from Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie; the Gold Coast Cotton Club Orchestra will transport you back 100 years to the prohibition era and aim to have you on the dance floor cutting a rug.
This 13 Piece orchestra will be under the baton of local Trumpet player and devotee of all things Jazz—Mr Todd Hardy, who recently made his home on the Gold Coast after spending 25 years in the Sydney Jazz scene. Hardy studied Jazz at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and regularly performed with Monica Trapaga, Dan Barnett, Rhonda Burchmore and his own Swing Orchestra. He also recorded with Australian Jazz Icon Judy Bailey for ABC, and his most recent album was featured as an ABC Jazz album of the week.
The Gold Coast Cotton Club Orchestra is best enjoyed whilst dressed in 20's attire, whether you’re a flapper, a gangster or even Mr Gatsby himself.
Don’t miss this night of swinging music from the Jazz Age!
Presented by the Gold Coast Jazz and Blues Club.
