Could your charity, club or organisation do with a brand new Heatlie BBQ valued at $1,448.00? We are looking for South Australia’s best BBQ cooks, so if you fancy some fun get a team together and enter the Great South Aussie BBQ Cook Off at Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market this March.

During the first four weeks of March, four teams will compete each Sunday in preliminary heats to win a place in the grand final on Sunday 29th March. Each team of three people will be given $30 to spend at the Farmers’ Market that morning to create a single serving of delicious food. Headed by Market ambassador chef Kane Pollard of Topiary the panel of judges will select one team each week to progress to the grand final held on 29th March.

We are looking for every kind of cook to showcase the amazing food at Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market. Whether you are a traditional sausage sizzler or an imaginative vegan, fusion food influenced or inspired by the food of Italy, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, South Africa or anywhere else, we’d love to see what you can cook up. It’s free to take part, just register your team’s interest here and we will be in touch.

The Great South Aussie BBQ Cook Off is just one of the weekly attractions at Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market. With free entry and over 100 stalls selling the very best produce in the state fresh from the farm, the market is a great morning out for foodies. Meet friends for breakfast at Poh’s JamFace stall or enjoy a coffee, pick up locally grown flowers, artisanal bread, free range eggs and much more, straight from the locals who grow it, raise it, make it and bake it.
