The Story of the Poster

Paul Atterbury (The Arts Society) is a writer, lecturer, curator and broadcaster, and a familiar face on the BBC Television's Antiques Roadshow, where he has been a member of the team of experts for over 25 years. He specialises in the art, architecture and design of the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Story of the Poster – Posters surround our lives and we take them and their messages for granted but they are relatively recent phenomenon. This lecture looks at the history of the poster, covering artists and designers, the emergence of famous brands and household names.
