To herald the arrival of 707 Operation's diesel hauled vintage train for the annual Ballarat Beer Festival, the Ballarat Tramway Museum will be operating extra trams throughout the day. Travel aboard the circa one hundred year old vintage trams that once ran in Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat, through the nineteenth century heritage listed Ballarat Botanical Gardens, on the western shore of the tranquil Lake Wendouree.
The tramway museum will also be open. Here you can discover how trams played a pivotal role in the development of the city built on gold, see the oldest operable tram in Australia dating from 1887 and view our interactive displays. The gift shop will also be open selling a range of books, badges and other assorted tramway related items.
