Hear stories and insights from a panel with a unique range of lived experiences, including transitioning in high school, coming out as transgender later in life, and raising gender diverse children. The audience is invited to ask respectful questions and can join us afterwards for refreshments and social chat. Panel members include Nevo Zisin, Michelle McNamara and Karyn Walker.

Nevo is a Jewish, queer, non-binary writer, activist and public speaker with a particular focus on issues surrounding gender, sex, culture and sexuality. They run workshops in schools and workplaces around trans issues. They are also the author of award-winning Finding Nevo, a memoir on gender transition.

Michelle teaches a postgraduate biotechnology course at the University of Melbourne. She is a committee member of Queers in Science, Transgender Victoria and the Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council. Michelle is a Transgender Victoria representative on the LGBTI Police Reference Group and the City of Banyule LGBTIQ+ Reference panel. Michelle is a contributor to the groundbreaking anthology "Transcending: Trans Buddhist Voices" which will be published in October this year by North Atlantic books. She is also an ambassador for the This Girl Can Vic campaign run by Vic Health to promote women's involvement in physical exercise.

Karyn is co-founder of Parents of Gender Diverse Children which provides peer support, education and advocacy, and she is mum to two children, one of whom is trans.
