Turkish Pazar Festival

The Turkish Pazar Festival celebrates the traditional street bazaars of Turkey in an inclusive family-friendly event at the Queen Victoria Market. The Festival is free and suitable for everyone, regardless of age, ability, cultural and language background.

Celebrating the richness of the evolving Turkish street food scene, the Festival brings to visitors many regional styles not generally available in Melbourne. There will be an extensive menu of food to enjoy as well as the opportunity to sample free new and exciting foods. Vegan and vegetarian food options will be available.

The Festival also celebrates Turkish culture by showcasing the rich diversity of the styles of Turkish music and folklore, arts and crafts. Over two days, the day long stage program will include dance and drumming displays as well with contemporary and traditional musical and vocal performances. On Sunday there will be a performance by the spectacular Australian Turkish Mehter Band dressed in Ottoman military costumes.

Hands on demonstrations of traditional arts and crafts, children's activities with a Turkish theme, cultural displays reflecting regional diversity and expressions of Turkish culture, and roving performers in traditional costume will transport visitors to the Festival to another place.
