Surfers Paradise’s much-loved Asian Street Food precinct, Chop Chop Surfers Paradise, is gearing up for a super-charged celebration, with its first birthday coinciding with Chinese New Year festivities.

The hugely popular dining collective will host three days of nonstop entertainment from Friday, January 31 to Sunday, February 2 including children’s craft workshops, Soju tastings and sushi making for the adults and a nightly program of acrobats, lion dancers and live music.

Daily craft classes will delight youngsters as they learn ancient arts and crafts such as origami, while free face painting will add a burst of colour to their days.

Sushi-making classes will be a winner with adults, along with the chance to participate in Soju tastings or see your future in their open tea leaf readings.

Roving acrobats, singers and lion dancers, will perform for diners and visitors wandering through the precinct, providing colourful entertainment each evening, whilst the quality restaurants deliver food samples or even a special discounts.

Another highlight will be seeing Chop Chop’s beloved Cherry Blossom Room transformed into a ‘Fortune Forest’, with visitors able to select their own unique fortunes from the red envelopes that will adorn the cherry blossom trees in honour of the Chinese New Year.
