Yoga Nidra is an accessible practise which takes place lying down on a yoga mat with pillows and a light blanket covering. It requires no special skllls, other than to follow the guided meditation which consists of a systematic process for complete relaxation of both the body and the mind. During Yoga Nidra, you progressively move through the brainwave states from Beta to Delta. This is done by taking the awareness to different aspects of experiences such as breath, sense awareness, parts of the body and different layers of mental awareness. Gradually, all tension in the body and mind releases in a careful and deliberate way which creates profound relaxation, stillness, tranquility and inner calm and peace, creating a profound release from the mind's entanglement in the sensory world.

The practise can include an intention (sankalpa) or affirmation, which is part of the yoga nidra practise. An Intention is a simple 'I am' statement of how you want to feel or be and is planted like a seed during this very restorative state. This sessions also includes a silent Mediation Creations Watercolour Painting experience which flows on from the Yoga Nidra. The paints are high quality from Germany and we use fabric as it sustainable... it's beautiful to witness the watercolours form and merge into your own meditation creation. A gluten free morning tea is included and a teenager is also free with his/her parent or grandparent. yoganidrasunshinecoast@gmail.com
